‘57 Corvette
The 1957 Corvette with many performance options, it had the first one horsepower per cubic inch V-8 motor joined to a Borg-Warner four-speed manual transmission. There were a variety of rear axle ratios the Corvette could be ordered with.
The 1957 Corvette is one of the most sought after classics, for it was and amazing car for its day. The V-8 with fuel injection and the new 4 speed transmission proved to be a winning combination for racing.
Out of 6,336 Corvettes made only 713 had the 283 horsepower V-8 engine, 664 had four speed transmissions.
There were 1,336 that had power convertible tops, and 452 were painted Aztec Copper.
Also available in 1957: RPO 684, a racing suspension intended for serious racers. The cost was $780.10 and was installed on only 51 Corvettes in 1957.
